BSA SADDENED AT MP DAVID AMESS’ DEATH
The Business Sprinkler Alliance (BSA) was shocked and deeply saddened by the loss of their good friend Sir David Amess, following the attack at his constituency surgery on Friday, 15 October 2021.
Sir David dedicated his life to championing causes he believed in and was the most committed MP to both his constituents and the country for nearly forty years. As the Chair of the All-Party Parliamentary Fire Safety and Rescue Group, he was a tireless campaigner for a safer built environment.
Iain Cox, Chair of the Business Sprinkler Alliance said: “The fire safety community has been stunned by the shocking and untimely death of Sir David Amess MP. Whilst foremost of course his tragic demise is a cruel blow to his family and friends, his passing also leaves the country the poorer. He was an advocate for many things, the common theme was that they benefited all. “
“In his capacity as the Chair of the All-Party Parliamentary Fire Safety and Rescue Group he was a great advocate for improved fire safety and was a passionate supporter of fire sprinklers, recognising their undoubted ability to protect lives and property. He will be greatly missed.”
Our thoughts and sincere sympathies are with his family, friends and staff at this extraordinarily difficult time.
